Ben's New Videos: Brothers and Bikes & October 15th

i have two new videos of ben's to share! 

the first is a glimpse of the motorcycle trip ben and sebastian took together around the west a few summers ago. they traveled thousands of miles up to canada and back following the rocky mountains, hitting as many national parks as possible and enjoying what they say were "the most beautiful and underrated parts of the west".

the second is ben and kensey's wedding video filmed by a friend and edited by ben. ben finished the final copy editing to give to kensey on their 1st anniversary. it is so fun for all of us to revisit this beautiful and joyous autumn wedding day once again.

these are the last of ben and kensey's wedding photos and a quick video i have to share until we receive the photographer's much anticipated complete bundle. can't wait!

the matron of honor, kensey's sister taylor, organized an adorable surprise.......

after the ceremony, puppies showed up to hold and cuddle for photographs!

three of them ended up going home with family and friends for keeps,
another heartwarming memory of the day.

the wedding day celebrations ended with a live band featuring ben, sebastian, very talented and musical groomsmen and friends..........we danced for hours!!

wedding day eve cont.

wedding day eve brought the rehearsal dinner including a full on wedding ceremony rehearsal. 

wedding rehearsal went first. let's do this........

grandpa gerry was invited to open and bless this special, special ceremony and this night, kensey's father bill stood in for their family's dear friend mark, who would be the officiant.

kensey's ten bridesmaids included her adorably pregnant older sister taylor as matron of honor and nine of her oldest and dearest friends from dallas. in high school this close group of girls made a promise together to be bridesmaids at each other's weddings whenever and wherever they took place throughout their lives. pretty special.

ben's groomsmen included his brother in law andrew, his close cousin christian, long time friend mack as well as best man sebastian and the rest of "da boys", all best friends from high school. 

their cute flower girl and ring bearer were ben's little cousins, lila and charlie.

i just have to say, this entire group wins an award for "best looking bridal party" - whoa!

as the processional began, nicole, margo and gabi were asked to sing the 18th century christian hymn, come thou fount of every blessing accompanied by andrew on the guitar. beautiful.

next, with bridal party and family reaching grand proportions (70 important people), we included everyone and made the rehearsal dinner a casual and comfortable affair on the deck.  a chili bar was served offering both white chicken chili and chili con carne with all the fixin's as well as cornbread. for dessert, everyone gathered around the firepit roasting marshmallows and building s'mores.

finally, off went kensey, her bridesmaids, friends and sisters-to-be in one direction doing their fun thing and ben and his groomsmen off in another direction doing their thing.........

wedding day eve

i feel ready and recovered now, so let's revisit ben and kensey's wedding in october and all the happenings the day before, wedding day eve.

the wedding was an incredibly happy and wonderful day but i must admit, it was overwhelming. 

with all the large events taking place on our property, rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception, it was a grand effort coordinating between paul and i in boulder, kensey in dallas and ben in southern californina to make it all happen in a mere three months. but we were organized, we all worked hard, it was absolutely beautiful, the weather was perfect, family and friends supported us and shared in the excitement, joyous memories fill our hearts and the new couple is now contentedly luxuriating in newlywed happiness.

kensey's family arrived from dallas wedding day eve and helped finish stringing lights all around the property and move mulch putting the finishing touches on the garden. it was definitely an all family affair with brothers and sisters, parents and grandparents from both families working together and getting to know one another.

wow paul, your hard work these months looks spectacular.

friends, family and the wedding party began arriving throughout the day from all over the country to check in, say hi and offer help. a couple of my high school besties, liz and stephanie (who flew in from maryland for the occasion :), surprised me which made me cry and then even offered help with last minute gardening touches, which made me cry again. family and friends are amazing! lynn and sara toiled away in the laundry room ironing miles of table cloths and hundreds of linen serviettes as others tirelessly worked with the florist, helped with decorations, raked leaves, did house chores as well as kept up with bear and dog poop scooping! earlier in the week, another friend helped paul build the wedding arch and band platform. thank you, thank you everyone for your help. 

we couldn't have done it without you! 

another big project going on that day was the photo wall. kensey knew just what she wanted as a backdrop for guests to take photos and post @Bensey2016 and #BenandKensey. kensey wanted family artwork and objects displayed on and around shadow boxes she and her father had made.

beautiful!!
