we had so much fun saturday night!!
our very kind friend, brother-in-law's brother and byu assistant athletic director,
brian santiago, organized tickets for us to attend the byu vs. csu game.
so, we drove up to fort collins, had dinner and headed off to moby stadium.
after picking up our tickets, we were surprised to be lead down, down, down............
to the front row!!!!!! the best!!!
this is the game floor, right beneath my feet!
and there's one happy byu fan!
that is paul's hand on his phone (to the right) - close enough to tap the
coaches on the shoulder and give them some pointers......
thankfully, he did resist.
so much going on.......gabi even spotted spiderman in the crowd, i didn't know he was a
colorado state university fan.
other devoted csu fans?!
what a treat to watch jimmer fredette, he has the highest scoring game average in u.s. college basketball!
rise and shout, the cougars are out
they're on the trail to fame and glory.
rise and shout, our cheers will ring out
as we unfold our victory story.
on we go, to vanquish the foe,
for alma mater's sons and daughters.
as we join in song,
in praise of you, our faith is strong.
we'll raise our colors high in the blue,
and cheer the cougars of byu.....
rah, rah, rah rah rah
rah, rah, rah rah rah
go cougars!!!!
(i still remember the fight song after 25 years)
i sat right by the water station, so close to the players, i could see them sweat
and stretch.......nice!
byu won by 9 points!!!!!!! nice game, boys
fun and exciting night - thank you so much brian!!! it was incredible!!!!
little fan, lila
while we are on the subject of basketball, let's check out the fairview girl's bball team and
look........little niece lila was featured in the boulder daily camera this weekend. she was at the game cheering on alisa's husband's sister's daughter. they also go to fairview!
how cute is that photo?!!!
a random housekeeping picture.........
while living in holland, i started copying the dutch duvet airing custom. each morning, mother's would throw open bedroom windows and hang their family's duvets out to air for the day,
when it was a clear day, which was not very often.......
it was common to drive along and see 20 or 30 duvets hanging out of front, upper floor windows on a single street......
mmmmmmmm, so fresh!!!!
the dutch are so clean and tidy - i loved it!
a beloved masterpiece..........
i used to sew a lot! alas, times and life has changed.
i made this dress for nicole when she was 9 years old and have been anxious for gabi to wear it.
i loved creating the smocking on the bodice and sleeves and the details on the belt buttons.
i would probably have to call it my sewing masterpiece as it took me more than a year to make.
(i had three littlies and a newborn at the time.)
gabi humored me today and wore it to church. she wasn't thrilled,
"mom, it's not my style," pleads gabi.
"but sweetie, you look so beautiful in it," mom responds.
thank you gabi, it meant a lot to me to see it worn by another one of my beautiful daughters.
i didnt like that:(
