calving time

our friends have a ranch just down the road from us,
on the outskirts of boulder.
i get to drive by the ranch about a hundred times a day - i love it!

and right now, it is calving time.
the first calves born this year were twins!

i always worry that the calves will be born in the freezing, snowy, cold fields,
(if it is very cold, the ranchers put little down vests on the calves -
what an adorable sight to see them running around all bundled up)

but with temps. up to 69 degrees, it is a perfect time to be born....

*the cow in the upper left hand corner is in labor.

and valentines day just keeps coming........
i received a set of lovely valentines in the mail from nicole.

she hand-printed these gorgeous, crimson poppy greeting cards for me.
i wish i could send you each one but i could never even think of sending them away.

thank you, my gifted girl

today is my mom's
birthday!!
happy birthday mom
i love you.
i hope you had a lovely lunch with your sister.

paul loves our bright red amaryllis flowers and
took a series of photos of them.....

let's catch up with margo at byu...

i am sure it tastes as good as it looks!

yum, margo.

margo sent me this photo from her phone - it is the fruit tart she made for dinner at grandma's house.

it is a three day weekend - monday is president's day!  hurrah!
so, ben is off to indianapolis, indiana for the weekend to visit his girlfriend, kendall.
she is at butler university!
