a weekend

i am excited for this weekend.....

the kids have fun things planned,

and me too.

the best is that paul and i have a dinner and a movie date planned for saturday night

because gabi has a sleepover party to go to

and the boys will be out late after the final pops performance!!

let's start this great day!!

saturday morning, another "patty cake" headed out the door.......

for my friend kristen's baby shower

she and her husband tyson, are expecting their first baby and it is going to be a little boy.

food, games, laughing, chatting, gifts and tons of advice floating around this baby shower.......

then off to gabi's soccer game.........

a hard fought tie with no score!

an epic carpet cleaning adventure.........

we have been meaning to get the carpets cleaned in the house for months!!

paul was all over it saturday morning and was determined to get it done asap.

he made an appt. for this (sat.) afternoon.......

so we rushed home from soccer and started clearing the furniture from the rooms before the carpet cleaner arrived.

since it was a nice day - it all went out on the front lawn!!!

it better not rain!

2:00 

mo, the carpet cleaner arrives.

he also cleans air vents........

so why not?  i am sure they need cleaning too.

5:00 p.m.

the vents are clean.  

mo also asked if we needed any couches cleaned.

sure, i am sure the tv sectional and music room couches could use a wash....

in the middle of the chaos, ben, sab and friends 

make a quick refreshment stop 

between the pops matinee and the final evening performance.  it is pizza for lunch.....

5:30 p.m.

disaster!  our well is dry.  yikes, mo needs water to keep cleaning.

paul works and works on the situation and finally gets things going again.

8:00 p.m.

 all the furniture and throw rugs are cleaned and.......

 mo finally starts cleaning the carpets......

8:05 p.m.

i am starting to realize that our date is not going to happen.....

11:00 p.m.

mo is finally finished, packed up and paid.

11:05 p.m.

ben, sab and many friends show up to celebrate after their final pop performance.

food, games, music, hot tubbing.......

11:10 p.m.

paul and i begin to bring the furniture back inside carefully treading on the clean, wet carpets.

11:30 p.m.

i give up, oh well,

 i am going to bed.

not the saturday night i was hoping for!  grrrrrrrrrr!

i am trying to keep cheerful,

because at least my carpets are cleaned.

sunday morning we wake to a snow/sleet covered world.

the aftermath of the hot tubbing blows in the breeze.

thank goodness we brought all the furniture, plants etc. in last night!!

paul's shoes were not so lucky.

so, we will end this weekend 

with dreaded taxes. 

piles and piles of papers, numbers, files, paper clips and sticky notes.

i can't wait for this "wonderful" weekend to be done with.
