advent day seventeen: mother-daughter brunch

i have a board of amazing and talented women that support me in my leadership position at our church.

this morning i thought of the time, effort and heart
they each put into their responsibilities and got a bit
teary-eyed as i wrapped their gifts and wrote heartfelt thank yous
and merry christmas greetings.  i appreciate them tremendously!

the deer are coming down from the mountains and roaming through
neighborhoods and parks.  this doe was one of ten i must have seen here and there today.

we were able to hook up with nicole in germany
and have a good, long skype chat today.  what exciting plans she and max
have over the next couple of months..............jealous!

advent:

and the parties keep coming............
gabi and i were invited to a mother/daughter re-gift brunch today.

each girl was to bring an anonymous wrapped "re-gift" to the party - something she had grown tired of
or didn't fit or a book she'd finished reading, etc.
then, the girls took turns choosing a gift and exchanging
or taking someone else's they thought looked better than the one they chose.

(look closely, can you guess which wrapped present gabi brought?)

there was also some drama, singing and piano playing going on.

there were also delicious brunch goodies.......

and loads of chatting going on.

thanks for hosting all the festive fun and food,
 jennie and brooke!
