no snow, more ice.
0 degrees when we went to bed...
1 degree when the kids went to school.
it's warming up, guys!
today is
st. nicholas day
to celebrate, i would like to share a post from one of my all-time favorite blogs
the storybook home journal
which includes an abridged Hans Brinker or the Silver Skates reading countdown.
enjoy it here
we loved being a part of this holiday when we lived in holland.
on st. nicholas eve, our children would fill their wooden clogs with carrots
and set them by the fireplace for st. nicholas' horse.
the next morning, they'd hope to find candies and coins in their clogs.
advent:
the fairview choirs hold a fresh wreath fundraiser each year.
the wreaths and garlands arrived
and sab and i delivered his orders to all the anxious customers.
i couldn't wait to put up our wreaths today.
two at the main front door......
and another at the other front door.
why do we have two front doors? not sure, go ask my architect (gpa gerry!)
welcome, christmas!!
no scrooges allowed.
