calm january

i shared my meyer lemon tree with you in an earlier post.

it was a special gift from my sister for a special birthday last year.

what a bright, citrus treat to cheer color a white january day.

look.....my first lemony yellow lemon is nearly ready!!

i can't decide if i should squeeze it:

- in a simple lemon/hot water drink in the morning

- into the ingredients to make our family favorite lemon bars

- over grilled salmon for sunday lunch

-  along with avocados to make a divine guacamole

hmmmmmm.

we've really taken it easy today.

after a healthy sleep in and a necessary shopping excursion to

restock pantry and fridge,

we chose three great movies and settled into a cozy movie marathon afternoon and evening inside

as the snow began to fall gently outside.

still, calm, white-blanketed january.
