whoa, what a whirlwind!
these past five days have been jam packed and intense
but, oh so good.
thursday, may 17th
the prelims for the colorado state track & field championships
held at the jeffco stadium in lakewood, co.
with the 4x200 relay, ben in the 100m and ben in the 200m
making it to the finals
andrew, zane, lee and ben make up the the fairview 4x200m relay team.
thursday night we attended the
fairview knight of excellence
ben received two awards.
one for his dedication and commitment to the
knight crew
and the second was this award from principal don stensrud
the principal's award
the spirit of fairview, in honor of his dedication and commitment
to enriching the life of the school and community.
quite an honor!
friday, may 18th
finals for the 5A 4x200m relay
seeded no. 10 coming into the state championships,
the 5A fairview boys 4x200 took third place!!!
with a time of 1:27:91
bronze medals all around.
well done boys!!
saturday, may 19th
under very rainy skies
the 100m and 200m finals
5A 100m dash
ben came in 2nd!!
with a time of 10.60
silver medal!

between ben's events, his girlfriend emma was playing in the lacrosse state semi-finals.
we rushed from one stadium to another to see the game.
emma is the highest scoring high school girls lacrosse player in the united states!!
unfortunately they lost, dang!
back to jeffco stadium for the
boys 5A 200m dash
ben took the 5A silver medal and second place!!
his 200m time was 21.56
what a day! i cried, i laughed and was sick to my stomach,
i was the proudest mom in the stadium
well done my strong and determined son.
once again, our pride overflows.
you are so loved.
what a way to end a glorious high school track career!

The fairview boys track team completed a monumental turnaround on Saturday at
the state track and field championships. One year after placing 30th as a team with eight team points, the Knights racked up 53 points to take home the Class 5A state runner-up trophy.
the knight boys came in second in state as a team!
saturday evening was the graduation party for all the graduating seniors in our church community.

sunday, may 20th
fairview high school graduation!!

excalibur started off the ceremony and festivities, singing together for the last time.
ben is standing fourth from the right
nearly 500 students in the fairview class of 2012.
it was a long procession!
congratulations and hooray!!
