summer treasures......
cool dips in the pond
and our inky black hollyhocks.
i'm just thrilled with these old-fashioned flowers.
i started them from seed last year and planted them next to the house on the morning sun side.
they grew into beautiful mounds of leafy greens last year and
then this year they stretched and blossomed into flowering towers, nine feet tall!
I wonder if the hollyhock seeds would grow here? They are really beautiful, almost as beautiful as Gabi...
ReplyDeleteI do admire those black hollyhocks Janet, You will have them forever now that they are in your garden, I have a garden bed which has been taken over by hollyhocks which were planted there a year ago. The girl's camp looks delightful, if a little primitive for my taste. I hope that there are no friendly bears in the neighborhood. Do we look forward to a visit from Margo this weekend? Have the boys left for their summer trip. Sorry I have not been viewing your blog for a while. A quieter day today. Lots of love.
