keep the home fires burning

we had a slow, relaxed weekend.

hope you did too!

our unseasonably and unwanted warm weather was finally blown away

on saturday by a cold front.  but alas, it brought no snow.

it is dang cold, though!!

paul ordered an enormous pile of wood to feed our wood stove this winter.

it was delivered to us by a cute, little, old, mountain couple.

this weekend we stacked it high and dry.

the wood is oak and recycled from wood planks used to separate natural gas pipes

while they are being transported.  pretty cool.

paul made a sumptious ox-tail stew for sunday lunch.
and we all settled down for naps or old Christmas movies.
