garden of the gods

paul and i drove ben down to colorado springs for his track meet at
the air force academy.  his brother and sisters wanted to go too but gabi had
ballet classes all day, margo was working and sebastian had his act test (college admissions test).
so after dropping ben off at the track for his warm up, paul and i went on to the fantastical garden of the gods park.  the red rock formations against the blue sky were stunning.  at the center of the photo above is pike's peak, one of colorado's 14ers.  i like this mountain because you can actually drive to the tip top!  we've done it before and.......
the view is breathtaking!
if you ever happen to be in the springs, swing on by, you won't be sorry.

then we headed back for ben's (lane 3) 60m and 200m races!  go ben!
we loved being with you again.  you're simply amazing.

we invited friends over for a paul's pizza extravaganza.

it was a snowy, gray morning when we first awoke.  on these super chilly days i like
to turn on the car of my faithful early riser so it is nice and warm as he heads out.
proud of you, sab.

see that little, brown, squirrely tail in the center of the photo on the left?
so did rox!

midnight raccoon visitors!

now it is clearing above our freshly powdered mountains.
ya gotta love colorado!
