switzerland

paul and i arrived home last night from our amazing european adventure.

it is so good to be home and to see our family.

the kids did so well keeping up with their full time jobs as well

as keeping everyone fed, the house clean and tidy, the pets happy

and the garden watered, weeded and tended.

ben was even able to keep the stream, waterfall and pond going and beautiful.

well done!!

thank you everyone for making this happen for dad and i.

we had such a wonderful time together.

so, i've downloaded all of our photos (nearly 1,000) so it is going to be a bit of a feat

to go through them to share with you.

what i think i will do is to post country by country.  don't worry, we only visited five :)

our first stop was geneva where we met up with our great friends

and stayed the night at their lovely home.

i love europe.  i love so many things about it.  i love the wisdom and 

stateliness of the buildings and homes.

i love the not too much but just enough living space. 

 i love the idea of a quick shop everyday to fill the not too much but just enough fridge space.  

i love the close neighborly mix of cultures, languages and currency. 

i love the history, i mean i REALLY love the history. 

 i love hedges and the enormous trees that have seen so much for so long and happily soak up the moist, saturated soil.  

i love the chocolate.

i love, well i love so much more....

i am aware of the difficult things one must live with in europe (petrol prices for instance, ouch!) but while i'm on holiday,

i'll just savour the beauty.

a wonderful evening and morning spent with paul, maeve and kita and we are on our way.....
