soap making

i made my own batch of soap yesterday.
yay, me!  it is something i have always wanted to do
but was a bit intimidated with the whole lye thing. yikes!
so, i found an on-line soap course here at post road vintage given by heather
the most down to earth, livin' off the land mother of six.  heather made the process look easy and fun so i took it on and it was easy and fun!
using dried lavendar from this year's harvest, i made a calming lavendar soap.  the bars are now in their 4 - 6 week curing stage but i was so chuffed, i just had to take photos and share it with you before they get put on the shelf.
now i'm dreaming up other soaps i'd like to make......cedar scented bars embedded with pine needles and red berries for christmas or lemon.....grapefruit.....bergamot...

have a dreamy weekend.
