a knight of jazz

excalibur and age of guinevere jazz ensembles gave a "knight of jazz"
performance this weekend.  it was stupendous!
as i mentioned in the last post, these two fairview high school choirs have been invited
to perform at lincoln center as part of the new york city jazz festival next month under the
direction of world-renowned choral arranger steve zegree.
this hometown performance was a treat for us, a taste of what is yet to come.

each choir performed a set and then combined for six pieces.
it is amazing how talented these music loving
high school students are and how professionally they perform.
i am so proud and happy for them to have the opportunity to shine on the big stage!
what an inspiration.

sebastian performed a solo in the billy joel piece, new york state of mind.
way to go, sab!!  we love you!!

after the show, it is fairview tradition for the performers to come to the long, front foyer
of the school to be meeted, greeted, hugged, congratulated and photographed
by anxious and proud family, friends and fans.  what a night!

  1. I wish I had been there for that performance. So excited that Sebastian will be joining Ben at BYU. When does the summer term begin?. Congratulations Paul and Janet.
