colorado summer

the rocky mountains tower over our beautiful valley and blue skies are usually

the order of the day.  this is the magnificent view from our front yard.

the horses next door have been quite neighborly lately.  we are outside in the yard more

during the summer and when they see us, they are quick to come over and ask for a pat and some kind words. no problem, beauties.

ben and gabi are each going to take a night a week to choose the menu and cook dinner 

this summer.  this delicious pasta with walnut pesto, sausage and broccoli rabe dish was what ben made for us last night.  ben's love of healthy, fresh and filling food is always something to look forward to.  

he's a great cook and so is gabi.  actually, all my kids are great cooks!  lucky me!

and paul, well, he's the chef extraordinaire.

never have we had our field grass so high.  as a result of the september flood and the

subsequent snow and rain, the water table is at a high.  happy trees,

flowers and lawns.  this summer is looking so, so different, i hardly recognize it.
