autumn fever part 2

welcome back.
it's nice of you to visit on this beautiful autumn afternoon.
i would like to show you around the garden and then step inside for a bit.

our pumpkin patch has produced five bright jack-o-lanterns-to-be.
we think the bigger the better
so we'll wait until all hallows eve to pick and carve them.

grasses and vines have joined in the seasonal show of color.

hi gabrielle.  she just got braces and is enjoying smoothies during the first week of pain and tenderness.

can you stay for lunch?

my herbs have been drying for a week now and are almost ready to be crushed and
funneled into spice bottles.

rhubarb leaves in all of their autumn colored glory.

before you go, have i got an autumn or autumn/winter (depending on your down time hours) book recommendation for you!  Kristin Lavransdatter by Sigrid Undset.  it is an epic trilogy set in 14th century norway made up of the books, the wreath, the wife and the cross.  i absolutely loved it and night after night didn't want it to be 2 a.m. in the morning........again.  i never wanted to put it down.  in 1928 this historical novel won the author a nobel prize in literature.  good for her!
be prepared to go to nordic places you've never, ever been and then never want to leave.
(nicole, i'm sending it onto you)

thanks for coming and have a lovely weekend.
