as the snow arrives and the wind blows and the heat turns on and the pumpkin soup simmers and the fireplace glows and the winter boots dry on the rug and towering longs peak is frosted white and the darkness comes early making the nights long and cold, i think warm blankets, down duvets, fur throws.
so, with my head space focused on warmth as well as wanting to make something to give paul for his birthday, something useful, something practical but with a touch of special, a linen duvet cover sounded just about winter right.
i ordered the linen from the delicious assortment at fabrics-store.com and got to work. i love working with linen. it has integrity and with its natural qualities, becomes even softer the more it is washed.

cut and iron.......is let's just say.......challenging.
