let's check in with margo and andrew, it's been awhile.
margo has had a fun project going on at their house.
she's been overseeing the incubating and hatching of baby chicks!
while we were in utah a couple of weekends ago, margo showed us the whole set up.
at that stage, none of the chicks had hatched yet so she introduced us to candling which is one of the most exciting parts of hatching your own chicks!
margo threw a blanket over us for darkness and held a flashlight up to an egg. we could see the feathers of the chick and his little head and beak moving. it was exciting!
now the chicks have all arrived and its a noisy, chirpy, living room barnyard.
i asked margo how her dogs were enjoying this experience. apparently nigel is doing well and is curious and very gentle but helga stands and shakes just wanting to pounce and eat them.
one of the chicks was born (hatched) with some problems so margo sat in front of a space heater with the chick wrapped in a towel until 1:00 in the morning. that is a true animal lover for you.
