hawaii part 1

paul, gabi, margo (thanks for sharing her with us, andrew) and i went to hawaii for our niece abigail's wedding. abigail and dillon, the friendliest hawaiian born and bred surfer dude, met on oahu while abigail was at university. it was a joyous occasion made even more fun because ALOT of family came over to wish the new couple well and celebrate together - aunts, uncles, cousins and gma & gpa mervyl and gerry. a shout out to auntie margo and uncle tony who came all the way from south africa! all of our airbnb accomodations were in the same neighborhood in waialua just walking distance from dillon's family's ranch, the venue for their beautiful hawaiian wedding reception, so it was a full on party all of the time. the couple's wedding invitation, skillfully handwritten and hand painted by abigail, unfolded into a map of the island highlighting the wedding venues as well as abs and dill's favorite food and island destinations. abigail chose nasturtium details showing up on invitations, bridesmaid's dress colors and decorated the garden and reception tables. absolutely stunning. we referred to the invite map throughout our stay exploring the north shore and beyond with all of the food, fun and beauty we could fit in. our best though was waking up each morning, walking across the lawn under palm trees, out of our gate and into the waves to snorkel and swim with sea turtles. they were there every single day, the stuff of dreams. more island paradise photos to come......
