spring is fleeting in colorado. wait for it, wait for it...............did you see it? that was about the size of it this year, then boom.....it's summer. the last snow, and it was hefty, arrived may 18th and had us outside knocking its wet, heavy white from the full branches of our green leafed trees. difficult, cold, wet work it was. we lost a few big branches but saved many more. the up side to having this mighty, late snow is that it was gone in two days and replaced by lush, green greenery truly a welcomed sight. we've had an adorable visitor living with us. nigel's mom and dad a.k.a. margo and andrew were traveling abroad so wrinkly, monochrome nigel was ours for a few weeks. he slept on gabi's bed, taught roxy how to play like a dog and basically stole all of our hearts. andrew recently reclaimed him and he is missed. school is out, time to fill, dog washes and flowers, flowers everywhere on the property: alliums, oriental poppies, columbines, clematis, delphiniums, lilacs and the front field is filled by cornflowers and daisies. one of the happiest times of the year.
When flowers bloom, everything seems fresh and beautiful and everyone feels happy. Good to know you had a great family time and pictures are beautiful.
