fairview high school fine arts program has just presented performance week of the musical, Bring It On and what a week it has been. the entire community looks forward to fairview's outstanding musicals and this year each and every performance was to a sell out crowd! fairview students' level and diversity of talent blows me away each and every year. this show was particularly high energy fantastic and very funny featuring high flying cheerleading stunts, plenty of over the top hip hop dance numbers (i've included a short dance clip - gabi is in the red t-shirt), evil rival cheerleading drama and well developed characters for an unforgettable show!
gabi played the character bridget, an awkward but very sweet nerdy friend-to-everyone who has high hopes of making the cheerleading squad but always ends up as the school's mascot, a rooster. in the end with new friends, she is given the chance to shine!
i am so proud of you my darling and the determination and commitment you gave to this demanding show. to share the stage with your best friend as well as so many others you hold close to your heart is an experience you will always treasure. your efforts to make everyone in the cast and crew feel part of a team is the secret to a show's success and a shared sense of accomplishment for a job well done. i just couldn't be more proud of you.
margo flew in for the show! it meant so much to gabi to have her big sister here attending three of the five shows. thank you, thank you margo, your nurturing, mentoring and supportive presence was invaluable to gabi.
