gabi wanted to celebrate her coming of age 18th birthday inviting her girls to a boho birthday bagel brunch in the backyard. oh yea! gabi came up with the idea of a boho backyard something and i ran with it. (i know, i know paul, but i love, love it, can't help myself, last child, gabi is all about fun, parties are my thing, it's spring, i love her friends, they are all stressed out and overwhelmed with the demands of finishing high school, i've known some of these girls since kindergarten, last birthday party ever, how could i not?!)
with the picture in my head, we got to work creating the invitations, choosing just the right location in our backyard, praying for a sunny morning, hunting around the house for all things boho - cushions, candles, feathers, wood, metal, brown, black, natural, furry and fringed then planned the menu and stuff to do.
i surprised gabi with a photo collage celebrating her 18 years growing up with these many friends and hung it on a tree :)
we got what we wished for in a beautiful, warm and sunny day and spent the morning carrying everything outside and making it look just right. her girlfriends began to arrive and everyone ate and ate (btw, they love bacon) relaxed, visited with each other and enjoyed this beautiful spring morning outside together. full of bagels and the works, fresh fruit and more, they got to work creating henna designs on each other and making friendship bracelets to give and keep. girls are the best.
happy 18th birthday my darling, (wow, when did that happen?!?!) and thanks for coming everyone!!!!
