scotland, the last country on our holiday.
this too was a new country for me and again, i loved it.
i mean just look at this......
we headed to fort william at the base of ben nevis, the next mountain climb.
i loved catching a glimpse of this lovely scottish woman.
unfortunately, these were the conditions the boys had to endure
during some of the ben nevis climb. but they did it!!
a big celebration inside the pub at the bottom of the mountain.
huge congratulations to all these guys!! they set out to climb the tri-peaks
and although the conditions were unfavorable at every climb, they were successful!
sad goodbyes to our new and old friends and then paul and i had a couple of days
alone together to explore more of scotland.
we visited stirling castle, dunkirk cathedral and the quaintest of scottish villages.
what dreamy days we had together.
we also took the opportunity one day to visit kirkcaldy, the hometown of
paul's paternal scottish grandmother. the day coincidently, was her birthday.
this was such a memorable experience for paul to walk the paths
that she had walked and connect with the past. he had visited this town when he was a young boy
and many feelings and memories manifested themselves that day.
coming to an end.......back to england for two nights at the charming
black swan hotel and pub. we spent the last day catching up
one last time with our friends and said heartfelt good byes.
how lucky i feel on this trip, to have met so many new friends and catch up with old.
to discover and explore new and beautiful countries and
spend precious time with my husband. it has inspired me in so many ways and
rejuvenated my desire to incorporate all that i saw, felt, learned and experienced to
lead a simple yet rich and beautiful life.
