i am so sorry to report that
at the beginning of the fourth quarter, ben broke his arm.
he jumped up after the tackle, ran to the sideline, told the coach he broke his arm and asked him to put in a
replacement running back,
the clock never stopped.
he has been in a lot of pain, but is a brave, brave soul. it is a right forearm, angular, double break. the orthopedic surgeon was brought in and is going to try and avoid surgery. for now, he is in a splint for 2 weeks until the swelling goes down. the dr. will decide at that point if he can be put in a cast or if surgery is necessary. we are hoping for the cast option!
he has been sleeping, relaxing and surrounded by many caring and concerned friends.
(ben wanted me to take a picture of the break before the splint because it looked so cool. but, i will spare you a queazy stomach!)
