the forties

group haircuts today......
(all by their own free will!)

gabi can't resist laughing as sab
has a number 3 blade working over
his head........no more curls, they are all
on the floor!  :(
(yeah! he does have one front curl left. that curl was the first thing i noticed when i met my beautiful, little newborn boy)

that's better!  sab and ben went first then headed over to target while gabi got a cute layered cut.

i simply adore this bunch!!

do you know what i saw today as i was driving around town......
workers putting up
christmas lights!
right on time(?)........just about
2 months b4 christmas???

to tell you the truth.........i'm feeling a little bit of christmas excitement stirring inside....
it is my favorite time of the year.....

dead as a doornail......

this morning i went out to start my car and what did i find?
nothing, absolutely nothing.........grrrrrrrrr!

who was the last one to drive my car?
did someone leave the lights on?

my very kind husband (culprit) came home and taught me how to set up the battery charger.

waiting.....waiting.....
finally, she's all ready to go...

fantastic, because i want to share with you one of my very

favorite pastimes.......

have you ever felt like you were born in the wrong decade?

i do, quite often.....
the 1940's is one of the decades i was surely meant to live in. i imagine quiet, gentler times when the pace was slower, the colors quieter, the food fresh & homemade.....when clothes were made of cotton.....and we went out back to get eggs.  and i can only believe....there was very little white noise.
i tend to look back in time for inspiration.....and the 40's is a time of soul-filling inspiration for me.

i love my car and the reason is..........
when i am inside my car, i'm in my own little time machine with the destination switch set to the 40's.  i turn on my XM satellite radio to the #1 preset button....
the radioclassics channel
filled with old time radio shows.......to the era
when radio was king.

you can check out my favorites at:

the shadow: with the courageous duo of lamont cranston

outside the garage....

rick poured concrete today........

and gabi is roller blading.....

we are having a glorious indian summer.......

the forecast...78 degrees tomorrow (25C)

we know we better enjoy it while we can, because it won't be too long until we are hit and hit hard!!!
