today is veteran's day

here in the u.s. of a......

November 11 is Veterans Day, a U.S. federal holiday dedicated to honoring veterans who served honorably in war or peacetime.

in honor of veteran's day, the schools have the day off.......

last night, we went to see les mis....
the girls asked if they should dress up.
"sure!"
dressing up for 10 year old girls means....tutus, ugg boots and assorted accessories....


the production was absolutely amazing....
i want to see it again tonight!
i teared up many a time, and so did my date ;)


the kids thought it was pretty cool to have a day off in the middle of the week.  gabi thought it would be magical, to have a sleepover....

so we made some magic........

wouldn't it be enchanting to sleep beneath a starry, frothy, butterfly sky....

out the window, snow flurries began to fall to add to the magic of the night......

so today we woke to more snow.......

we haven't seen the inside of the

hat, mitten & scarf storage bench for months......

and we had to scuffle around for the hot chocolate mix.....


unfortunately, paul's office didn't honor veteran's day with a day off.......

but the rest of us went out to lunch and a fantastic, very entertaining movie....
