orange

i've been loving oranges lately.
so bright and cheery.  when unwrapped, they are a spritzy-sour, juicy experience.

paul made and delivered  freshly squeezed
orange juice this morning at breakfast.
and later in the evening i made an orange
spice tea with a floating, fresh citrus slice.

civil war.....

gabrielle's class has been doing a study unit on the civil war.
for the culminating activity, they divided into groups and presented diorama's
depicting different aspects of the war.  gabi's group chose to re-enact a hospital
and the role of the civil war nurse, tending to "pierre the amputee".

man down.........

poor gabi is feeling very sick and missed a day of school.
she woke up with a sore throat and sore tummy.
i'm so sorry you're feeling unwell, baby.

roxy stayed by her side all day and enjoyed some privileges like lying on her bed.
gabi said it "comforted" her.....

hungry visitors......

to cheer gabi up, i put out a scoop of birdseed so we'd have a lot of traffic through the day.
gabi could watch the furry and feathery visitors out of the window as
she spent the day resting on the couch.

these guys have been cracking me up all afternoon.  screams, yelps, whoops, cheers.....
i want to have a turn at whatever game you are playing......

  2. I am glad to see that Gabi was well enough to
enjoy Valentine's Day. How beautiful all the breakfast meals looked.
Please send Roxy to us next time we have a winter cold. I am sure that she was the magic ingredient
    which helped Gabi to recover.
