garden greetings

i can start sharing my garden with you again!

a fairy forest of butter lettuce has claimed one of my garden boxes.
margo planted two tidy rows of lettuce earlier this spring,
but they decided amongst themselves to fill the entire 12 x 12 square..............strange.
salad anyone?

i have an affinity for blue flowers.
ground covers, potted plants, columbines...........it doesn't matter, i just adore this color.

gabrielle had her voice recital last night.  she sang beautifully and with such confidence!!

her pieces were:

Shy from Once Upon a Mattress
and
Home from Beauty and the Beast

after the recital,
(which was the 8th recital we've attended of the kids' in the last couple of weeks and the end of recital season for this year......i'm good for the next couple of months at least, thanks)

we went to the new frozen yogurt shop that just opened up in south boulder.

it was so fantastical.
a wall full of frozen yogurt choices just waiting to be pumped into your bowl.
take a left and you are greeted with 30+ toppings to pile on top.
i didn't even recognize some of the little bitty things.
then to the weighing station.......44 cents per ounce.

after spending 20 minutes deciding on the perfect combination,
i preceded to the check out and stumbled.......
splatt!
my whole bowl landed face down on the scale.
how embarrassing!  the kind cashier said i could go make another one.
that's ok, i just scooped it all back in my bowl and went on my merry way.
it actually didn't look any messier than anyone else's........
and tasted divine.

i couldn't decide to share the photo of margo pulling a face or ben........
so you get both!

it is the second to last day of school and the traditional school pool party.
this is usually the first time the kids have been in an outdoor pool since labor day, last september.
official outdoor pool openings are this weekend - memorial day.

cupcake pool party!
gabrielle's friend allison is a genius cupcake creator.
she took the time to make individual cupcakes for the party. they resemble each and every 5th grader - 60 cupcake kids with 60 floaties, flippers and flags,
how fun!

look who we found in our yard today........

an adorable and very skinny black bear.
first one of the season.

hi little buddy.

  1. You are sooo lucky to have a bear in your garden! Are you kind to him? Or do you have to chase him away?

  5. This is not my actual blog (it was an idea years ago, but I changed my mind and the name apparently lives on!)
It's just fun to check in on all of you once in awhile Janet. Great pictures!! Your time in Steamboat Springs, the Mad Hatter party, seeing your Dad, etc. etc.-just fun as always. Thanks for the "visit"!
