bon appetit!

i can confidently proclaim that this child 

was the happiest child on the planet yesterday.

why?  because she got her first phone!

we've had a couple of scary miscommunication incidences over the past couple of weeks

since she has started middle school. so, we bent the normal family rule of 

waiting a bit longer to receive a phone.

i feel better now and believe me, she's elated!!

sunday lunch

my nasturtiums are showing off in all their radiant glory at the moment.

i love that they just show up in their own favorite color with no

rhyme or reason.  this year i have 2 or 3 shades each of orange, red and yellow.

i love tossing them into a green salad as an edible surprise.

today, i set them in tiny vases as a centerpiece for our sunday lunch table.

on the menu...

chef paul

whole wheat pasta on a bed of baby spinach

topped with a fresh shrimp, bacon and garden vegetable medley including:

fresh summer squash & zucchini, 

onion, mushroom and assorted colored peppers

topped again with 

a fresh basil and lemon pistou 

(a la nicole)

white rolls

cantaloupe slices

and a

luscious chocolate bundt cake with berries

bon appetit!

we all miss margo around the sunday lunch table.

i asked nicole to go call everyone when the food was ready.

she teasingly called, "margo, it's time to eat!"

and we all whimpered.

we miss you, sweetie.
