ben was home sick from school one day this week
and i think roxy was commiserating with him.

of his stairs waiting for her big brother to come down

our chokecherry bushes are laden with
ripe, deep red berries.
in the past, i have made chokecherry jelly with our harvest
but i don't think i will get to it this year.
i'll just let the birds get their fill.

the kids have a day off of school today.
gabi and i decided to treat ourselves to
manicures and pedicures.
gabi always chooses the brightest colors on the shelf.
me, i'll stick to gentle, calm neutrals like
creamy cappuccino.
