snow day. oh ya.

 

it's our first snow day of the year! oh ya! no school today!  

we got a mass phone call this morning at 4:30 am letting us know

that the school district had proclaimed it a no school day.

what's the point of a snow day if you are going to wake everyone up to let them know it's a snow day?

grrrrrrr!

it certainly is beautiful.

we knew this snowstorm was on it's way and that it was going to be a big one. 

18 inches and counting...

last night as i was tucking gabi into bed, i noticed that her pajamas were turned inside out. why, gabi?

mom, if you sleep with a spoon under your pillow and your pajamas inside out, the next day it will be a snow day.  

everybody knows that!

how silly of me. 

so, how are we going to spend the day?

well, after a hearty, large and leisurely breakfast,

 the boys shoveled the long walk and ben cleared the driveway with the tractor,

then took the snowstorm car - the ford excursion and went to a friend's house. 

gabi walked to grace's and they played outside all morning 

coming and going between both houses.

and made theodore, the snowman.

i ironed.

when they finally got too cold, gabi and grace came inside and set up a hot chocolate tasting bar.

they sampled 10 different brands and flavors

and unanimously voted 

stephen's pumpkin spice hot chocolate, the winner!

now that they are all warmed up, they've bundled up and headed back outside.......
