we were off to provo again this week to celebrate the
fourth of july
and a very special and momentous occasion.
we got to see cheerleading cousin jenny in the parade!
my favorite place to be on this most patriotic of holidays is provo, utah.
not only do we have a lot of family to celebrate with but
this little college town comes alive with festivals, a 10k run, fairs, a huge fireworks production
and the floaty, fun and fabulous freedom festival parade!
the rest of the week was spent swimming, hanging out with cousins,
climbing mt. timpanogos (no small 10 hour feat), loads of eating, catching up and.......
savoring the fact that all of paul's siblings were together again for the first time in 22 years.
aunties margo and gillian were visiting from south africa and the rest of us
in the states drove in so we could make this event happen.
what a thrill!
thank you for making the effort everyone. many memories made.
we drove back home today and as we came nearer to boulder,
we were greeted by the most wonderful sight we could have imagined.
huge, bulging rain clouds were pouring their contents
over our parched and burned fields and mountains.
it was a rain to change everything.
our shallow wells will fill, our dry creek beds will run again,
our burning fires will be doused and silenced.
what a blessing.
Lovely post! And so wonderful to see you again.
