roatan images

these are the last images i'll share of our time on roatan island.....

cool colors and a peaceful scene.

pool play.

poolside workouts.

the only black spot of our vacation were these red spots.
unfortunately, sand flies rule the island.
they are on the beach but also inland.
after a few days we were all covered and miserable.
these nasty little no-see-ums land and bite without notice.
their bite is much itchier and lasts much longer than mosquitos.
we are still scratching!!!

our bug spray and suntan lotion station - frequented all through the day.

margo out for a paddle.

the colors of casa vista verde.

meal time.  sweet, sweet nolvia took such good care of us all.
she made us the most beautiful honduran meals each day.
thank you nolvia, i can't tell you how much i appreciated you giving me the
opportunity to truly relax.  you are a gem.

and here she is.  beautiful nolvia relaxing and fishing on the dock
after a full day of taking care of our clan.

raol, nolvia's husband made sure the grounds, pool, boats, fruit trees, beach and gardens
were looking their best.  he also took such careful care of us and made our stay that much more fun!
thank you, raol!

east side roatan island sunset.  i loved this view of the little island next door to us.

gabi is an amazing snorkeler!

land crabs everywhere!

gabi, also looking like a brightly colored tropical fish for all the time she spent in the ocean and pool.

roatan is a diver's paradise.  the fish are so plentiful and beautiful.

the island is also known for it's gorgeous coral.

we just couldn't get enough of it all.

sometimes sab would snorkel and just.........think.

this cute couple had such a lovely time sharing the island together.

roatan is a very poor island but the people are so lovely and cheerful.
just look at this colorful laundry!

there is only one main road on the island.
no lines, no rules!

the children in roatan are well loved and cared for.
it was beautiful to see them in their crisp white and blue school uniforms.

we loved savoring all the gorgeous fruit on the island.
some familiar some not so familiar but all divine.

conch shells are used to decorate the exterior of homes and walls.

pretty margo at sunset.

we had a couple of dramatic thunderstorms.  paul loved it!

adios from roatan.
thanks for sharing our family adventure.
happy, happy memories and grateful hearts for this enriching experience and precious time together.
