sushi night

we had a sushi night and it was so much fun.  if you have an asian market in your town, make that your first stop.  the pacific ocean marketplace is close to boulder and offers all things asian - from fascinating food to sushi mats to carved furniture.  once in the doors, the sights, sounds, smells and flavors transport you to an exotic country far away to the east.  i was so caught up that for a moment i found myself hoping i'd brought the correct currency.

with all the ingredients bought and prepped, we each built and rolled our sushinori sheets, which does take a little finesse.  everyone did pretty well.

one of those green lines is not avocado, it's wasabi.

gabi and sab opted out of the salmon.  really?

it was a chilly evening, so we also had wonton soup.

yum!  i think we'll try sashimi next.....
