stendig wrappings

anyone love stendig calendars as much as i do?  i mean, i really do.  a classic design straight from the mid-sixties, this impressive calendar fills a wall in an upstairs study at our house with its smart and striking, clean, simple, straightforward, contemporary presence.  i mean, aren't those the ultimate adjectives for an amazing anything or anyone?

margo knows how much i love my calendar and after listening to me lament every 30 days or so about having to tear off another gorgeous sheet, suggested that i keep each massive month for wrapping paper.  brilliant!  so this Christmas, we get to relive this dramatic yet black and white year all tied up in crimson bows.
hey, wait..........could that long, skinny gift be a stendig 2015?

notice our still bare Christmas tree?  another story............
thanksgiving weekend, we put up our tall, festive but fake pre-lit tree so that ben and sebastian would be able to join in the tree decorating.  much to our surprise when we plugged it in, a measly, minuscule section lit up.  after testing each and every cord, things were truly as they seemed.  no lights.  the magic was over.

what to do?  the tree was good but it was covered in uncooperative lights and i didn't want to string working lights over all the disagreeable lights.  so..........yes.........gabi and i sat for the next three days cutting off a bazillion (at least) lights, cords, clips making an enormous, vacuum clogging mess.   grrrrrrrrrr!  so, there our tree stands, undecorated, unlit.  we're so over it.
