big snow and beautiful chocolate

our biggest snowfall of the season plowed through the area over the weekend with the last of the snowflakes falling just this morning.  the town came to a stop and routine life was cancelled for two days blessing everyone, except hardworking snowplowers, with the freedom to do just as they please. oh yea!

paul couldn't wait to get on his tractor/plow and clear friends' driveways,
gabi headed out to spend the day sledding with friends and i bundled up, grabbed the camera and invited roxy to come explore the property with me in all of its fresh and chilly and snowy goodness.

roxy busied herself making tunnels.

a pristine snow fall beckons one to pause and rest your eyes on the familiar, seeing things anew.

looking downstream,

then upstream with not a mountain to be seen.
they will be spectacular when the clouds lift and the blue skies shine.

the plowing finished, paul and i decide to go on a snowy hike up eldo mountain.

then everyone home again to warm up.

to end this post, i'll share a line gabi said which made me laugh and laugh......
"mom, don't you think just once in a while hot chocolate would rather be called beautiful chocolate?"
i do.  beautiful chocolate it is.
