paul, gabi and i have just returned from a spring break trip to south africa.
i am anxious to share this beautiful, beautiful country with you.
just after paul and i were married and had finished our undergrad degrees at b.y.u., we moved to cape town, where paul was born and raised, so he could study and earn his m.b.a. during this time, i not only fell in love with each and every member of his magnificent family
but also fell under the spell of this diverse, magical and foreign city.
since then, we have made many trips with our family back to south africa to enjoy its splendor and most especially to visit family. this again, was an anxiously awaited and joyous return.
a unique aspect of cape town with its myriad of beaches is that there are two oceans to choose from just a hop, skip and a jump away. on balmy days, we head to the warmer indian ocean to swim at beaches like muizenberg (above), fish hoek (below), boulders, and st. james. on blistering hot days, we choose the colder atlantic beaches including noordhoek, clifton, sea point and camps bay.
wind sheltered boulders (above) is always a favorite spot with its resident colony of african or fairy penguins.
noordhoek (above) to hout bay (below) is one of the most spectacular marine drives in the world. it is our favorite way to get from the indian ocean side back to the atlantic side.
we stayed, luxuriously, with paul's sister gillian and her family at their house in camps bay (above).
more to come.........
beautiful photos... even makes me gasp in wonder at my own city... lovely, lovely to see you guys... x
