early these summer mornings, i gather ingredients to begin the day's
fresh fruit and herb infused water.
my initial motivation was to find some way to use up the over zealous spearmint and peppermint in the herb garden initially simply infusing mint & sliced lemon through the day. this combo is still our family's basic favorite, but i've been stepping it up, experimenting with beautiful (to look at and to taste) sliced fruit, some vegetables and surprising herbal combinations:
basil & lime
peach, lemon & peppermint
strawberry, lemon & basil
orange slices & cilantro
rosemary & grapefruit
lemon, cucumber, ginger & spearmint
strawberry, lime & mint
kiwi & cucumber
today's is a cherry, spearmint & black cherry berry herbal tea infusion (above)
over ice, it's divine!
i love water infusions because they are healthy, hydrating and homemade.
