we grew a sunflower house again!
in the spring, sunflower and morning glory seeds are planted together along a 6' x 9' rectangle traced in the dirt of a sunny, flat spot in the garden leaving a small opening for a door. as the warming weeks progress, 'heavenly blue' morning glories wrap their tendrils around the skyward climbing sunflower stalks creating the walls and eventually the heavy, golden, lofty blooms provide a shady roof. magic!
even though the kids are all grown, i can't help but plant this summer playhouse year after year.
it just wouldn't be summer without it!
hey, look who got her braces off!
beautiful girl, beautiful flowers
