it is finals, concerts, parties week for gabi
(she is taking her last final as i post) and then it is the end of the semester and christmas break!
we attended the fairview holiday choir concert and this being our 12th in a row, we can't imagine what the christmas season would be without it!
gabi is a member and president of the sophomore choir, troubadours. she introduced the choir's first piece, Ukuthula, African Prayer for Peace, a traditional zulu gospel song.
troubadours also sang Deck the Halls in 5/4 time, Winter Song, Deck the Halls in 7/8 time and finished their set with Loch Lomond. gabi sang a solo which would have made her scottish ancestors proud!
we enjoyed the entire song filled evening and always look forward to the tradional finale pieces for which all choir alumni in the audience are invited to come up and join.
mass men choir sings do you hear what i hear? and then mass choir finishes with sing we noel, noel and silent night. these fairview choir traditions have been going on for 35 years!
always a very special evening.
have a lovely weekend.
