we are home from and humbly describe.....india, a land of magnificent chaos.
paul and i and our daughters, nicole and gabi, spent two weeks together in this amazing, overwhelming, life-changing, incredibly populated, colorful country.
we flew into delhi and then spent the next few days in goa, one of the country's 29 states. goa is located in southwestern india with the arabian sea running along its west coast.
to tell you the truth, i'm still trying to get my head around what just happened but here is a start.....
humble, peaceful, gentle people.......cows.....cows.......cows.......water buffalo.......spice plantation.......cashew trees.......concrete.......crumbling concrete.......colors.......more colors.......papaya.......la plage......
nilaya hermitage.......elephants.......portuguese influence.......cows resting in the middle of the road.......palm trees.......cathedrals.......temples.......you do not want to drive here.......hire a driver, i highly recommend it.......sugar cane.......crushed sugar cane drinks.......john-john the elephant.......dogs.......dogs.......dogs.......food.......oh, the food.......vegetarians.......loving, friendly bindi dots.....elephant shower.......elephant ride.......tiffins.......marigolds.......respect for all living things.......peacocks.......bottled water.......monkeys on the roof.......spiritual.......beautiful, beautiful children.......indian oil massage.......fresh fish dinners......sacred basil.......gauze canopied beds.......flower necklaces lovingly given.......driving is a free for all.......scooters.......families of four on scooters.......no helmets.......and more colors.......cricket.......swimming in the warm arabian sea.......villages.......street markets.......inexpensive medicine.......delhi belly.......auto rickshaw.......yoga.......more cricket.......capital city of panaji.......coconuts.......bougainvillea.......
goodbye goa, then back to delhi..........
