spring cleaning

spring cleaning is what we've been up to on the property.

 the winters here wreak havoc across boulder valley with extreme winds, snow and ice. unfortunately, the trees take the brundt of it. so this time each year, after gathering and collecting huge piles of broken branches strewn from here to there, we inform the fire department just down the road, then light a bonfire.

this spring, we also had some of our big, old decaying trees cut down. it was sad. especially seeing squirrels running around the stump searching for their home and wondering, "what happened?"

but come next winter, we don't want those extreme winds wreaking some deck, pergola and house havoc!

well, spring was nice for a week or so. we have an enormous winter storm on its way. grumble, grumble.
