summer light

i've been wandering about lately fascinated by the summer light inside, outside, morning, midday, brightness and shadow. summer gifts us with loosened timetables for things like this. i like it. i also like that the garden is constantly in bloom surprising us nearly daily with a new showing. paul and i were wandering hiking one day along blue stem trail and came upon fields and fields awash in blue. chicory was in bloom en masse and it was breathtaking. at home, chicory also decorates the roadside next to our mailbox, it's one of my favorite colors. after returning from california, refer to previous post, ben and kensey spent a few more days here at home with us and we loved, loved it. ben, paul and a friend took off one morning on a motorcycle trip for the day, something paul and ben have been trying to make happen for a couple of years. yippeee! y'know, summer is the best.
