while we were in l.a. last weekend, we spent one day with nicole touring the city she loves. she lives in the diverse l.a. neighborhood of mar vista and has the cutest apartment next to a weekly farmer's market. we were lucky enough to pick the right day! she shares her apartment with max and their great friend, will. they ride their bikes to work and take the bus to the beach and around the city. what a lovely, interesting life you are leading, my darling, darling girl.
i loved this enormous farmer's market. the colors and varieties and sizes of veggies and fruit made me want to grap a shopping bag and haul a whole load back to boulder. the avocados were the size of soft balls. look at this variety of pluots or as we called them, plumpricots! one of these was the best tasting fruit i have ever had in my life. it tasted like a popsicle.
the two major foodies in our family.
after the farmer's market, we headed to nicole's work. she has a very demanding and exciting position at the award winning and internationally famous morphosis architectural firm. she loves it and all the talented and inspiring people that work there!
next, we headed to japantown for lunch. to tell you the truth, i am not exactly sure what i ordered but it was cold and good and noodly. gabi couldn't leave japantown without a boba milk drink, not my favorite! after a driving tour of downtown, koreatown, morphosis building spotting, hollywood, beverly hills and a quick trip to the beach, we had to say goodbye to our beautiful daughter. thank you nicole for sharing all you love and how you live in this hot, busy and very big city. can't wait to be with you again.
have a lovely weekend all!
So glad that Nicole is happy and fulfilled and engaged with life - it is the most we can ask for our children.
