after christmas 2016

after christmas, we spent the rest of the holiday together at home with a happy mixture of r-e-l-a-x (often next to a fireplace), board games, hot tubbing, music (lots of music), singing, reading, hiking (table mountain in golden, co), gaming, reading, eating (mostly leftovers), playing, bowling and walking the dogs. nicole, ben and kensey had to return to california for work just after christmas so we made the most of the time we had with them. on new year's eve, those of us that were still here headed to downtown denver. first stop was the beautifully restored and holiday embellished union station. then we walked the entire 16th street mall stopping for dinner and taking the bus back up. the lights, the music, the mild weather and smartly dressed party go-ers made for a festive, fun atmosphere and sweet goodbye to 2016.
