fairview women's jazz choir, age of guinevere, performed at boulder's dairy art center last night to a full crowd. up until now, we have had the pleasure of attending jazz concerts featuring this choir in its collective best but last night each of the twenty girls gave an individual jazz performance enabling us to enjoy the strong vocal talents of every choir member. the girls chose their own chart, set its arrangement, including some fantastic scatting, worked with the rhythm section and gave the introduction to their piece. the confidence and talent of these sixteen year old girls is inspiring. what a night!! here is gabi opening the second set with her rendition of the 1954 jazz classic, fly me to the moon.
