snow and ice

these winter weeks in colorado have been filled with a collection of snowstorms and mystically iced days of a sort i have never seen before. the snow is common enough but the nearly invisible icy mist secretly encrusts every little thing to create a strange, eerie atmosphere. venturing outside, it is as if you are looking through a foggy lens or amidst a spell being cast. the thin but tough ice has also caused havoc on the roads, closing down highways all about us just at rush hour. one evening as i made my way to the mailbox, i found i was able to ice skate in my ugg boots all the way down the driveway. wheeeee! to keep warm, we've been spending most evenings inside or going to the movies. we've been hitting some of the 2017 oscar nominated best pictures seeing three so far and la la land twice. they are fantastic! you can see the full list of oscar nominations here. what are your predictions this year?
