thanks skinny jim bob for guarding the garden so well.  there's a storm
a-brewing so it is time to harvest the last of summer's bounty

equals =

2 gallon bags full of chopped green pepper stored in the freezer and added to winter meals

tomato bredie
(paul's south african lamb and tomato stew)

equals =

eggplant parmesan
(a family favorite from moosewood cookbook)

a winter's worth of butternut soup.

next is the herb garden, i hope my herbs make it through the night, the news keeps reporting a big snow storm on it's way to colorado.....big winds too 50 - 70 mph....hold on to your hats!!!

i hope grandma and grandpa are going to be ok.  they left this morning to stay the night at glenwood springs.  they may get to stay two nights!!!

this evening, gabi wrote, addressed and hand delivered invitations to her annual halloween party this friday.........

  1. we only made it for one night. And one swim in the afternoon that we arrived.
Monday morning brought snow and rain and even though I am a hot springs diehard I could not face the thought of getting into a bathing suit so early in the morning, getting to the pool and then getting out in the cold again. Granpa was very happy to be back in the car and heading for home. A wonderful wonderful ten days of discovery and delight.
