paris, colorado

paul and i met some friends at brasserie ten ten in downtown boulder for lunch on saturday

i have never been to this restaurant before and absolutely loved it.

as we entered the door, it felt like i was transported back to paris....

clinking plates, casually tuxedo clad waiters, and stylish couples romantically focused on each other in meaningful conversation.  we were lead to the back of the restaurant, always my favorite place to be seated so i feel immersed in the environment.  i pretended the waiters were speaking french.....

je voudrais:

french onion gratinee

reuben sandwich with gruyere & remoulade

profiteroles with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce

magnifique!

then we walked around boulder for awhile.....

i felt sorry for the boulder mallards swimming in the freezing cold water 

and hopping up onto the icy shore........ 

gabi and sidney had a sleep over last night......

they always amaze me with their creative ideas.......

"mom, we want to eat messy food without using our hands and then take a picture........(?)"

"mom, we want to wear curlers in our hair and see what we look like in the morning...........(?)"

"mom, we want you to stay out of the kitchen until we tell you when to come in"

gabi and sidney had been watching the ever popular

cake boss

and were inspired to make a cake extraordinaire..........

two hours later.........

chocolate, chocolate chip cake made from scratch

with a fondant embellished frosting......

they named their cake

wow girls, we are very, very impressed

and the kitchen was cleaned to perfection too!

gabi had her first basketball game for this season.  she played so well,

this little thing has determination and a very strong will to win!!

paul and i were off to a birthday party at the med saturday night

for our friend brandy......

for her gift, i found these fantastic, fun, fancy washing up gloves with frilly frills.......

brandy, won't you look stylish when you next wash the dishes, or scrub the sink or color your hair!!.......

happy bday!

a lunch, chocolate cake and a night out on the town.............fun day!!!

off to the med for the birthday party meeting friends for drinks and tapas.
