on sunday evening, sab drove us over to the lake to meet friends.
what a perfect way to enjoy another indian summer evening.
sab and his friend josh are both learning to drive this year.
"dude, how many more driving hours do you need?"
chris and robyn brought food and supplies for a lakeside campfire
complete with all the fixins' for s'mores.
zack and gabi spent the evening catching frogs and getting their flip flops stuck in the mud.
(that is quite the evil eye! i'm thinking that gabi is reaching saturation point with blog photos. what do you think?)
sab and josh walked around the lake passing the football back and forth.
we suddenly noticed the beginnings of a beautiful sunset.
it began to glow into the deepest of pinks, calmest of purples and most vibrant of oranges.
our chatter stopped and we all just watched the transforming colors.
paul watched the view, lakeside.
and then caught a couple of walleye!
a memorable evening to refuel us for a full week ahead.

golden days nursery school is back in session!!
lila, ryan and i did some exploring in the garden, searching for our favorite colors.
lila and i love the purples......
they seem to tint the air around them with their color.
ryan likes the reds......
but their favorite flowers were the bright blue morning glories
climbing up the sunflower stalks.
